Retirement

A Michigan state representive has introducted a bill for a early out. While everyone is hooping and howling for joy, I'm thinking Oh Shit!. If the bills passes I could retirer in as little at 3 years. I'm scare shitless of retirement. I'm one of those strange human being that likes their job and likes where they work. Retirement even now the word sticks in my throat. Holy Shit!

Television

I think television is better then ever. So why in all the world do I spend time watching mindless situation comedies from my boyhood. Some television I couldn't watch, bedtime was 8:oo on a school night. Others I lost the battle with my brother for the television. I never did all the Jonny Quest episodes and I always wanted to know if Dr. Quest and Race were a couple. I have manage to catch all the Munsters and Adams Family episodes.(Munsters Rule) I've watched the first seasons of Bewitched on DVD, it was cuter before Tabithia was born. Speaking of Tabithia, there a 13 episodes of defunked series from the 70's on DVD.(who Knew) I want to see the Beverly Hillibillies from beginning to end mostly because I can't remember them. I Do remember the Boston strongarm vs Rebecca of Donnybrook episode, its my favorite! of all time. Currently I'm watching the first season of I Dream of Jeannie I can only say, What is that genie thinking he's not that cute. But then who is good enough for are little Barbara Eden. Maybe Get Smart will come out on DVD. But then again. Time Tunnel is out now... oooooo James Darren, be still my heart. A few years ago I watch all of Bullwinkle and Rocky, they were funnier then I remember I wish they would come out with the Hoppy Hooper series on DVD; I'm I the only that remember it? Anyway all these 60's show should keep me busy for a long time.

This weekend David and I attended a party. A Log Cabin Republican was there. I'm nearly fifty and met a zillion Log Cabins and I still want to say "Are you for real?" Here are some of my favorite quotes by Logs that I've meet

" Still like to suck dick?" then my favorite line "I promise Bush may win the election but he won't carry Michigan" I turned to see a blonde man yelling at someone who works for the GOP. That was fun enough but I wanted detailed. After the Republican left in shame, I asked blonde-guy what he was talking about, turns out Mr. LC was paid and went by a local GOP millionaire to get deprogramed somewhere out west. More money wasted by a Republican .

I remember in the mid seventies near the end of the hippy era, thinking how can this be just a fad? How can world peace, loving your neighbor be just a fad?
I wonder is if the goth people felt the same way. How can this just be a fad?

I miss Blogging

I haven't found or make the time to blog recently, I find very odd considering I enjoy blogging. Sometime when I a have a moment or while I'm going for my walk I blog in my head. I imagine what I'm going to put down to computer. Some new observation on life or a new take on a old thought. Problem solving as I type. I realize it all a pipe dream. Pipe dream could that be referring to a dope pipe hum I just realize that as I typed.

The weekend in Black and White

It was the annual Black and White party in Saugatuck this weekend. Every year it gets bigger and bigger actually now I think its called Black and White Weekend. It all started as annivery party then is became the black and white in 80's. Now its the Black and white weekend with Sunday their kicking off Summer early with the first tea dance of the year. Its Apirl in Michigan folks!
All this is getting to be a bit too much for me. I remember Superbowl before there were Superbowl Parties. President Day was just a day for school house discussion. The TV season just ended no big final or cliff hanger. Does everything have to bigger and grander to be good. Motel became Motor lodges then Hotel then 3-4 star Hotel, sometime all you need or want is a clean bed.
I remember about 15 years ago I went to Penniscola. I would at the side of the road, grab my back pack and hey I was at the beach. Not anymore crowds of tourist now a couple of Hyatts and paved parking lots. Something is lost, something basic we keep rising the bar and losing fun in return.
As we fought are way through the crowds of people in 50's degree weather in resort town in early spring I kept thinking when does it all stop. This use to be the local getting together for the first time of the season. Now its an event.
