Great Deli's South Beach

David and I went to Jerri's Famous Deli in Miami Beach. This location is where Wolfie's got started, David is a regular watcher of the Golden Girl and was trilled. The price's on the menu took me back, I purchased a Corn beef and Swiss for $16.50. David got a half sandwich and knish. The total came to $49 including tip.
No pictures of famous guest on the wall, but lots of movie star at award shows. The food tasted great and David wants to go back again.

Another Proud Grand Rapids Moment

Stephen Krebs and Matt Hill got a BIG GR welcoming in the county jail. CornerStone Baptist University arrested the two SoulForce Riders as they walked in the students center. SoulForce Riders are a group Gay Christians who travel to religious universities to open dialog about the Bible and homosexuality .
The Grand Rapids Press called them" gay-right activists" which is like calling a Vibe a SUV, but activist insights a much bigger reaction, then gay folks who just want to talk. The SoulForce Riders are being welcome into Calvin Christian College . The Calvinist are alway willing to talk before they judge, God-bless 'em.
Being Agnoist, it seems to me like alot of wasted energy on everyone part, But Hey! it may not be my thing... but if it yours its ok.

Bush in Grand Rapids-Excuse me East Grand Rapid

President Bush spoke to an Audiences of 500 at the East Grand Rapids High School yesterday. Given that East Rapids is the wealthy snooty suburbs to Grand Rapids where to date no hometown boy and girls have died, it hard to image a better audience for the President. The Grand Rapids Press stated the crowd was impressed by his speech, that's probably is true given this is the same turf that produced the screenwriter of American Pie. Seems being able to WOW a crowd in East Grand Rapids is just like... PIE.
Bush protesters( and there were a big bunch) , were given a half of a page, on page 8 slightly more space the big polar bear cub birth in Berlin. The conservative Grand Rapids Press all but forgot the two anti war rally, they did make note that a 200 foot banner was made with all the decreased American soldier from the Iraq war. I would like to seen a photo of that instead of photo after photo of the President and his groupie. The Press ignored the anti-bush impressed that President all but stuck his thing in the EGR pie.
The strangest tidbit yet from the rag is how the President, who was behind scheduled, made a surprise stop to see President Ford's grave. To reinforce this there was a front page color photo, of a lone President standing sorrowfully in front of Gerald Ford tomb, one lone Marine in the background. The whole thing, smells, looks, and feels scripted, with all the dramatics of a Lifetime movie .

Grave stone

Great Deli's- Cleveland

Voted one of the top 10 deli's in the county by USA Today. It was difficult to find I typed in the address and showed up in a different city. Very Jewish. Lots of celebrities have eaten there. more celebrities picture then Nat's in Beverly Hills. I had corn beef it was very good.
Pickles served in a tray before dinner including pickled green tomatoes, which surprised me maybe there is Southern roots there. Great place, I want to go back again.

4th grade ( the first time)

Two days back in my home town and already I feel like crying. No, to be exact I wish I could cry , wail my way back to happiness . Along with the usual feelings a being out of place, being disconnect from my family and insecurities -I'm depressed. I find myself tearing up at irrational time and unable to sleep. North bound trip home is in order soon and /or Prozec.
Te real problem isn't that this is the place I grew up so much as it the place I survived. The happiest time have been those times when sometimes I was upset, sometimes I laugh, made a ass out of myself but I always felt alive. In my parents house and being a dyslexic queer, required that I feels nothing. Disassociation equals survival.

In fourth grade (the first time) a teacher held my head in place and make me stare at a paragraph, telling me I wasn't trying . I actually spoke up for myself ( always a big mistake) and said I was trying and started crying. She stuck me across the face.

I lived in fear of father finding out that I cried and beating me...worst yet shaming me, calling me names... like little girl . Sleepless nights occurred parents called , mental health was recommended and of course the shaming . In the end it came down to me apologizing to father and my teacher, my exacts words were," I sorry I'm not crazy I'm just lazy".

Now my borderline mother has passed, my fathers is new gentler kinda man, Giving and loving with girl friend and her family.

I was diagnosed as dyslexic 13 years ago But I spent too many years surviving by being invisible. Somewhere, Somehow I think a good crying is in order
