Sad News for Michigan
LANSING, MI - Negotiations spanning two years and involving parents, educators, law enforcement officials and many others came to a halt late Thursday when state Sen. Alan Cropsey (R-Dewitt) said he would not allow anti-bullying legislation to pass the Michigan Senate. The Republican Senate was ready to move on the bill when Cropsey blocked it.
"Sen. Cropsey has long been an opponent of anti-bullying legislation in Michigan," said Bernadette Brown, director of policy for the Triangle Foundation. "Last night he single-handedly ended an effort to protect young people in Michigan from harassment and assault."
House Bills 4162 and 4091 would have required all school districts in Michigan to establish policies regarding school bullying, based on a definition of bullying that is in the State Board of Education model policy on this issue. The legislation would also have required all districts to provide a copy of their policies to the Michigan Department of Education, which would then report to the legislature on the status and quality of these policies throughout the state.
The legislative package - titled Matt's Safe Schools Law in honor of Matt Epling, an East Lansing eight-grader who took his own life in 2002 after a hazing incident - passed the Michigan House in 2007. The package was voted out of the Senate Education Committee Dec. 11. After extensive negotiations, Senate Education Committee Chair Senator Wayne Kuipers (R-Holland) joined a team of legislators who had championed the bill including Senators Glen Anderson (D-Westland), Samuel "Buzz Thomas (D-Detroit), Mark Schauer (D-Battle Creek) and Randy Richardville (R-Monroe) in working toward passage of the bill.
Howver, trouble began late Thursday evening and spanned into early Friday morning, after a Republican caucus on the issue. Majority Leader Mike Bishop (R-Rochester) and the caucus came out of the meeting and were unwilling to challenge Sen. Cropsey.
"It is a sad day for all of us," said bill sponsor Rep. Pam Byrnes (D-Chelsea), "but especially for the young people of our state and their parents, who were counting on this forward-looking policy to make Michigan schools safe for learning." Michigan is one of only 11 states that do not have a law requiring some type of anti-bullying policy in schools. Triangle Foundation will continue to fight for all young people in Michigan by pursuing anti-bullying policies in all schools..

I don't make this stuff up -Republican
The way to read the US News.... pretend you in Space and looking down... Pretend your not part of it so you can see how much jerks we truely are. LOLhttp://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/26/AR2008122601707.html?hpid=topnews
Chip Saltsman, a candidate for chairman of the Republican National Committee, sent committee members this month a holiday music CD that included "Barack the Magic Negro," a parody song first aired in 2007 by talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
Created by conservative satirist Paul Shanklin, the song puts new lyrics to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon," and it is performed as if black activist Al Sharpton were singing it. Limbaugh played it after the Los Angeles Times ran an opinion piece with the same title.
"A guy from the LA paper said it made guilty whites feel good, they'll vote for him and not for me cuz he's not from the hood," the song goes. "Oh, Barack the magic negro lives in DC, the LA Times they called him that because he's black but not authentically."

Merry Christmas
Before you think of saying an unkind word Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.
Today before you complain about life Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren
Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn't clean or sweep. Think of the people who are living in the streets
Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job. Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another. Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.
Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol
My favorite Christmas Carol is Mr Magoo's. Mr. Magoo is Ebeneezer Scrooge . The animation is terrible I was they would redo or at recolorize. Still the song were by the dream team of Jule Styne and Bob Merrill. I first watched when I was six and have seen it numerous times since. I thought I was alone in my love of this classic. But David admitted it his holiday favorite. Now closeted Mr. Magoo fans are coming out all over the place.

I don't make this stuff up -New HBO series
Its about a man with a big schlong called Hung
HBO has made a name for itself by producing groundbreaking series and now the cable network is once again set to make waves with its new show Hung, a dark comedy about a man with an exceptionally large penis and the trouble it gets him into.
Hung was created by Dmitry Lipkin and Colette Burson, the masterminds behind the critically acclaimed FX series The Riches, and will star film actor Thomas Jane. Alexander Payne who directed Election Day, About Schmidt and Sideways, also directed the pilot for Hung and will serve as executive producer on the series.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lipkin and Burson's spec script for Hung was the first major purchase by the network's new entertainment president Sue Naegle in April; then it was her first pilot pickup and now her first series order. The turnaround on this spec has reportedly been one of the fastest in the history of Hollywood.
Hung is slated to begin production early next year.

Wild Party lyric Madalaine the Lesbian song
At the bar there's a girl in the shadowSitting still like a nun unknown.
Though an attic full of strangersMay hold many hidden dangersThere's a quality I like - She's alone.
So I pause And I wink And I shudderJust to bring her attention in line
While her pastures may be greenerI can tell by her demeanorShe's mine!
(The girl falls off her chair, dead drunk.)
That's fine:I need a good-natured, old-fashioned Lesbian love story
The kind of tale my mama used to tell.
Where the girls were so sweetAnd the music would swell
And in the end the queen would send the men off to hell.
What is that mild-mannered, old-fashioned Lesbian love story
Where people knew exactly who they were?
I want the story of yoreThat they don't sing anymore
To an old-fashioned dyke like her.
See that girl on the bed, how she wants me.
She's a bee I could free from the hive.
I would never dare deceive her
She's a very clever beaverWith a quality I like - She's alive.
So I pause And I twitchIn the silence
While I pray that she'll play out this hand.
But I feel my intuitionSaying "Notice her position" - Start the band!
(The girl is embraced by a man.)She's clearly manned.I planned a well-rendered, one-genderedLesbian love story
With good old-fashioned sex in every line
Where girls with tattoos would whimper and whine
"While on all fours, you show me yoursAnd I'll show you mine."
I miss that soft-hearted, old-fashionedLesbian love story
Where women wrestle bears and passersby
.The kind of story so good
That they won't tell in my 'hood
To an old-fashioned dyke like -
I'm gorgeousI'm singleI'm bustin' with laughs
So whyCan't I Be just in two short paragraphs of aYou betcha, damn funnyLesbian love story
The kind of yarn that turns a girl to mush
.Choose from hundreds of blondes
But when shove comes push
I understand a bird in hand's worth two in the bush.Sweet Jesus!
Let's hear that old-fashioned Lesbian love storyWhere girls are girls And boys stay out to sea.
I'll write a new one and thenI'll make them tell it again
To an old-fashioned dykeLike me!

Van Johnson -Passed away December12,2008
___________________________________________________________________
According to Eve Johnson, her marriage to Johnson had been engineered by MGM: "They needed their `big star' to be married to quell rumours about his sexual preferences, and unfortunately, I was `It' - the only woman he would marry."[4] As she explained, Louis B. Mayer refused to renew Keenan Wynn's contract unless Eve married Johnson: "I was young and stupid enough to let Mayer manipulate me. I divorced Keenan, married Johnson, and thus became another of L.B.'s little victims."[4]
The Johnsons separated in 1961, after the actor reportedly had an affair with a man Eve Johnson described as "the lead boy dancer" in the London production of The Music Man, according to her son Ned.[5] They divorced in 1968.[6] As Johnson recalled, "[Eve] wiped me out in the ugliest divorce in Hollywood history."[7]

I'm still not feeling well
I prefer those sickness where you not restless. You know a its effort to get out of bed, Sleep 24 hour and its over.
This morning I went to Walmart to replenish my soup. The lights were so blight and I felt like I was walking underwater. I went home and back to bed.
I'm glad I live alone-I would be getting on someone nerves. I constantly want to do something but nothing can hold my attention for longe. I start something then I get tired. Even bad television isn't fun. The voices on South Park last night were grading to hear- usually thats one of my favorite.

Its a tricky case. The law is not a definitive about reference book. Harry Potter's words is so entrenched in daily life that is would be difficult to decide what is truly JK Rowling and what is public. Also if JK Rowling doesn't fight this she could lose some of her right later.
I hope Mr. Van Ark is able to make some money off of his book. Steve live in West Michigan and runs a Harry Potter web site.

Fat helped the dog survive
Last Edited: Friday, 05 Dec 2008, 1:03 PM ESTCreated On: Friday, 05 Dec 2008, 1:03 PM EST
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) - A dog weighing more than 120 pounds survived being frozen to a sidewalk overnight, probably because he was insulated by layers of fat, authorities said.
The Sheboygan County Humane Society says the "morbidly obese" dog, an aging border collie mix named Jiffy, froze to the sidewalk when he was left out overnight Wednesday.
Shelter manager Carey Payne says few dogs could survive the single-digit temperatures, and it was probably the fat that made the difference.
Jiffy's 59-year-old owner was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of animal neglect, Sheboygan Police Lt. Tim Eirich said. She told police she tried to get the dog inside but couldn't, and instead checked on him every few hours.
The dog is 11 or 12 years old, Eirich said. Shelter workers poured warm water over Jiffy's back end to unstick him from the sidewalk, Payne said, and it was too soon to say whether he suffered any long-term effects.

To be more specific, the evangelical, right-wing, oogedy-boogedy branch of the GOP is what ails the erstwhile conservative party and will continue to afflict and marginalize its constituents if reckoning doesn't soon cometh.
Simply put: Armband religion is killing the Republican Party. And, the truth -- as long as we're setting ourselves free -- is that if one were to eavesdrop on private conversations among the party intelligentsia, one would hear precisely that.

Theater Outing-Ferndale
Who Wants Cake? is proud to announce the return of David Sedaris’ side-splitting, anti-holiday treat. The Santaland Diaries gives an horrific account of a resting actor (Joe Plambeck) and his seasonal employment in the Christmas Grotto in a famous department store. In Season's Greetings, meanwhile, a housewife (Joe Bailey) is composing her annual Christmas newsletter, detailing the important events of her year ... not least of which is the arrival of her husband's sexually precocious Vietnamese love child. A distinctively different and totally fabulous double bill.
