Day 5-8 The truth about the Barbie Conventions

I'm going to tell the truth about the Barbie Conventions, here goes... they aren't that interesting.

Let me clarified that by saying they are fun-at least to me, a collector. But I stand by my statement that they aren't interesting.

have been to other convention and festivals, in most way the Barbie Conventions are the same, maybe even a little duller. A couple of years ago David and I stayed at a Hotel during the Pampered Chief, those people knew how to party...Barbie Convention there isn't much drinking.

I will say there is small percentage -who are well... just not right, but that percentage is alot less most group , visit a trekie convention if your want proof. Last year I had a lady with blue hair scream at me , about a comment I made about the My Scene line of dolls.

I use to think the outfits were alittle wild, then I went to Ham Radio Fest with my father. Wild dress is just what people do at convention. We all have T shirts and baseball Barbie caps that we are to self conscience to wear anywhere else. But we don't wear shiner caps.

We have our charitable events like, usually for children, like most convention.

And like all convention we have our showroom and salesroom. They present new products buy , sales and sometimes trade with each other. People made one of a kinds dolls, tshirt, handbags, pin, outfits anything under the sun to s

truman Museum, Independent Missouri

Day 3 and Day 4 -The Amazing Harry Truman

Monday I visited the Truman Museum and Library in Independence.Mo. You would have to headless not to know Harry Truman was Independence. There a plaque and marker throughout the city, 42 on the street alone. Harry could not bus a table or return a dish without a street plaque ( Honest, I don't make this stuff up).

Harry loved Bess since 6Th grade they had scandal free marriage He made the papers looking up a Lauren Bacall on top of the piano as he played, Bess was not happy.

Harry was probably a stooge for the Pendergass Mob. Harry's first Senate election was fixed by Pendergrass President Truman was considered a lackey for Pendergrass and ignore by the other Senators. Yet Harry said the years in congress were his happiness.

He gain fame and recognition for exposing the abuse of contacts for the government.

One of the last choices by FDR for Vice President he was keep in the dark about everything including the Manhattan project.

Yet, the simple boring man had to make the most important decision ever, EVER. In the museum they have an interactive movie , where the audience review and important decisions made by President Truman. In every case there was no other conclusion except he did the right thing, because it was the right thing. He was antisemtite yet he recongized Israel . He allowed blacks in the Miltary against everyone advise. And that is Amazing

Day 2 Indy Pride

I dropped Zeppo off with David I headed for Indianapolis for the Pride events. I missed the Parade and only stayed at the events two hours. I did manage to meet a young Lesbian from Grand Rapids while I was there. The event was held at University park where the war memorial are-as opposed to Veterans park where the University is (I'm not making that up). I made the realization I forgot my cell phone charger and had to make a Super Walmart run.
Diet: fair ate great for breakfast and lunch then screw up at supper-but no real bad. No exercise unless you call wandering around the pride celebration exercise
