Visitor

The shrunk is making his/her quarterly visit. Usually Pepe or Peplena arrived nightly about 3am for a few days. Then the shrunk goes away.
David and Zeppo (who are the most sensitive to smell.) aren't brother in the least by the odor. The cats and I have to go to the couch. I spend the night praying I'll hear the alarm to get up in the morning.

Zombie Walk

From the report I got this morning from Thor at Walmart, the Zombie Walk was a great sucess. The crowd was way over expection. Traffic was back up and blood was everywhere. Your basic good time -had by all.
Thor was still wearing what remained of make-up from the night before including a fake open wound on his neck. All the customer were lovin' it.

I don't make this stuff up -Grand Rapids Michigan

Grand Rapids is trying for the world's record for Zombie Walking.
Grand Rapids World Record Attempt Largest Zombie Walk
After the massive success and national attention of September's Pillow Fight, on devil's night Grand Rapids will try and break the world record for the largest Zombie Walk ever.
Zombie Walk: A Massive mob of people dressed as Zombies walking together as a massive horde in downtown Grand Rapids on October 30th at 9PM starting at Rosa Parks Circle in grand celebration of Halloween.
Confirmed World Record: 894Unconfirmed Record: about 1,500
We can beat this; and our city can be placed in the Guinness Book of World Records. More then ever it's critical that we tell as many people we can about the event, through word to mouth and websites like facebook. I promise to do my part to get the word out as best as I possibly can if you do too.

Indiana polls are showing Obama have a 1% lead in the poll. If Obama carries Indiana it will only be the second time a it's happen. The first time was Lyndon Johnson in 1964. Indiana will vote Democratic for Governor -God know the Bayh family is Hoosier Royalty. But they always swing Republican for President.

What I'm watching- Mists of Avalon

I love King Arthur movies. So you would thought I would seen The Mist of Avalan years ago. To be honest I didn't like the book. It was difficult to follow and had a depressing feeling to it.
The mini-series was a great improve over the book.
The movie presented the Arthur's legend as told by Morgan (Morgan Le Fey) Arthur's half-sister and a witch. Morgan is usually presented a vileness who seduced Arthur and produced a son the destroyed Camelot. Morgan was played byJulianna Margulies . Who was fablous in the role. Julianne played the character perfectly.

This movie fill in loop holes in the tales. I like that. I also liked the witches were real with powers. Not like the Mary Steward book where Merlin ,Morgan and Vivian used tricks. More details of Avalon and witches including the Lady of the Lake.

I like Morgan was a heroine. I didn't like the sordid relationship before Arthur, Gwenhwyfar and Lancelot. The 3 way scene was more then I wanted to know. I prefer Lancelot and Gwen to be romanitic and Arthur to turn a blind eye.
As alway Arthur is played as a innocent. Have can a man who rules a county and kills the saxons be so gosh damn naive. Edward Atterton played Arthur who loved his older sister as a child and get in her pants by a trick of fate.
The three sister Anjelica Huston as Viviane,Joan Allen as Morgause Caroline Goodall as Igraine are wonderful. Morgause Igraine and Viviane do plenty of self service scheming to get what they want. Joan Allen is just evil.

more on Chicago's Halloween Parade

Next Year I'm going to this- it sounds great with $5000 in prizes!
The 12th annual event -- held on one of Chicago's most eclectic streets -- will step off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, October 31, from Belmont (3200 N.) and Halsted (800 W). The parade route is north on Halsted to Cornelia before returning south to a main stage at Halsted and Roscoe. Presented by Triangle Neighbors Association, a branch of the Lake View Citizens' Council, in conjunction with the Northalsted Area Merchants Association, the iconic annual parade is always guaranteed to be one of the city's most outrageous and imaginative Halloween celebrations. Thousands are expected to either participate in or view the parade which has quickly grown to become one of the Chicago area's must-attend Halloween events. The parade draws a broad mix of area residents including children and families. Free registration for the costume contest for children, pets, adults and groups begins at 5:30 p.m. at Spin, 800 W. Belmont. Winners of the costume contest for kids and pets will be announced immediately after the parade followed later by adult and group contest winners. There will be over $5,000 in costume contest cash and prizes, including airline tickets for two. There will also be post-parade musical entertainment. Sponsorship proceeds and donations from the parade support the construction of Space Park, a new community garden park near Halsted and Roscoe which is slated to open in 2008. To date, the community has raised over $1.2 million for park.

Great Gift

This great bookmark was made by friend Abbie. I just got it today and already it one most favorite gifts of all time ..Thank you Abbie

What I'm watching-I dream of Jeannie season 5

Now and then I tend to revisit 60’s things. Currently,I’m watching the last season of I Deam of Jeannie. This is season where Jeannie marries Tony. But the really big news is Major Nelson asks Jeannie to stop calling him master . Thank God! It has always been painful to watch her bounce up and down calling him Master. Jeannie does everything but bring him his slipper, oops -that happen in first season There have been times when I have wanted to reach in the television and shake her- “Don’t you have any pride, Girl”.
The character's are pretty much the same. Barbara Eden looks fantastic as ever as Jeannie, and Jeannie evil sister named Jeannie also as her mother, you guess it- named Jeannie. Larry Hagman looks a little worst for wear. His eyes are always hazy, red and puffy –I thinks open more bottles then Jeannie's. Amanda Bellows (Emmaline Henry )part is beefed up-now she is Jeannie new best friend. Doctors Bellows (Hayden Rorke) is a little kinder this season, probably because he has now under close check of Amanda.
Roger( Bill Daily) or Rog as Tony calls him is still the bumbling friend/skirt chaser. Bill Daily went on to play to uniformed bumbling nieghbor/skirt chaser on the Bob Newhart. The man found what worked and stayed with it.

Jin-Jin the dog is in an episode looking very depressed and cute. Jin-Jin was a rescued dog from the palace where he beated by the palace guards. So any time he see a uniform he attacks. Tony(larry hagman) won't let Jeannie keep him. I keep hoping Jeannie take a look at the kind of man she's going to marry.

Jeannie does get to wear a satin pants outfit to her wedding. None of her family get to go-including her mom and dad. I'm sure Tony had something to do with that too- Jeannie look at this. Does she get the dream wedding in some Middle Eastern Palace? -nope the chapel at NASCA. She waited over 2000 years and she a gets phoney sky and a white ivy climber. Jeannie would have did better at Vegas.

Theater Outing -Ferndale MI Oct 17,08

This looks like tons of fun. Its doubtful that I'll I make it this production. If someone reads this like me know how it was for tickets and more information: http://www.whowantscaketheatre.com/modules/theatre/
Seven Detroit friends are on the prowl - for relationships, fun, love, or sex (gay, lesbian, straight, with a dash of S&M mixed in for spice!). All the while, a serial killer is on the loose. As one-night stands lead to bad feelings, and the stalker becomes the stalked, the true nature of love becomes entangled in the true nature of lies, and it becomes apparent that the killer is dangerously close to them all. A unique and thrilling Detroit Urban Legend!!

Evil Dead: The Musical

David and I seen Evil Dead: The Musical Saturday at Theater On The Square or TOTS. They alway do wonderful productions. The play started with a group of MSU student on break. The group in all honestly looked like the Scrooby-Doo gang, except for the added slut pick-up. Hey it spring break so they bust into a cabin .

The students read from an old book. Then evil spirts are released -as well few musical numbers. My favorite song is zombie dance number when they do the best B-52's routine. The show is hilarious, it includes a singing moose head. A very expressive severed hand. And some gang banging trees. Tons of studio blood get splashed everywhere including on the audience.

Great fun for Halloween check it out http://www.tots.org/index.php

My brother-

I got this email from my older brother. Gary was drafted near the end of Vietnam War. The government was giving college deferment up until the last 2 years of the war. There was public out cried and the deferments were stopped. He never believe in military and especially dislike this war. He lives in a fairly rural Alabama. I am very proud of him

My stupid stunt for the day.... I am sending this to everyone on my list that might get a laugh out of the situation...Today, Saturday, I drug my sorry behind out of bed...ate a light breakfast.... diddled on the computer some, then went outside removed a flat tire and went to a service station to put some air in it.... and then on to the bank to cash my pay check. (Just kind of normal stuff). Anyhow, on the way home I decided I could use something more substantial for breakfast so I went to the local Hardee's fast food restaurant for a better breakfast. The parking lot was full, but the line was short because everyone had been served and were sitting at tables and talking. As I stood there waiting for my biscuits and grave to be put on the tray, I noticed it seemed as if all eyes were on me.... I check.. yeah I did remember to put my pants on. I get my food, sit down and start looking around a little. The room is almost completely filled with older men. I am old... and even I can say older men in this case. A few have hats on say things like 'Army Veteran' or 'Korean war veteran'. Anyhow, I eat my food... and walk on out. Then I notice it. All the cars in the parking lot have stickers saying American Legion. For those of you from other countries, American Legion is a club for veterans & very patriotic. These are the guys who march in parades carrying the flag. The 'America - Love it or Leave it' crowd.I had just invaded some sort of informal meeting they had wearing my 'Veterans For Peace' tee shirt. (see the picture).Damn!hahahaahhaahahahaahahaha

Craig Wilson

On Wednesday’s I look forward to reading Craig Wilson‘s column in USA Today. I read every word, top to bottom. The only others columnist I read entirely is Kathleen Parker. The only different is Craig’s column's don’t piss me off.
Craig makes small observation about life. Most don’t amount to hill of beans. His charm is that he’s appears amazed by everything. Like a country boy see the big city –for the very first time. I sometimes expect him to write “Gee Wiz” or “you won’t believe this”. I think it’s endearing- especially since I’m that way my self.
So I shouldn’t have been surprised when Craig wrote-he still loved Annette Funicello. I do too. I loved her since I was four and nothing changed. Like a favorite book or home town I find myself going back to her. Last night I watched Fireball 500 and Thunder Alley.
So here’s to Annette and Craig, Gee Wiz, I love them both.

Meijer Garden

Heart be still- Father Geoff Farrow

How can you not love this man? He threw open the closet door and he came out to the whole congregation. Then he speaks up for gay-marriage. All this and he is cute as a button. My hope is he’ll continue to do good works. He won’t get bogged down trying to change the church.
