Moose at the Columbus Zoo

Theater Outing-Grand Rapids

Taking the stage in July of 2009 is ALTAR BOYZ, a new foot stomping, rafter raising, musical comedy. This critically acclaimed hit about a fictitious Christian boy-band (with one nice Jewish boy) on the last night of their national "Raise the Praise" tour, is what Variety calls "An energetic crowd-pleaser". The Boyz are five all-singing, all-dancing heartthrobs from Ohio: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham. The ALTAR BOYZ will delight audiences. As they perform their signature hits such as "Rhythm In Me", "Girl You Make Me Want To Wait" and "Jesus Called Me On My Cellphone", the Boyz question their loyalty to each other and ask whether or not faith is really holding them together. They finally deliver a message of unity, that "there is no star as bright as its constellation, no harmony in a single voice." This hilarious musical was conceived by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport with music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker.

Comedy writers, siblings, and outrageously hilarious, David Sedaris and Amy Sedaris team their considerable talents for The Book of Liz, a wild, wacky (but ultimately sweet) parable about the adventures of Sister Elizabeth Donderstock (the delightful Jaime Moyer), who is Squeamish and has been her whole life. She makes cheese balls (traditional and smoky) that sustain the existence of her entire religious community, Cluster Haven. However, she feels unappreciated among her Squeamish brethren and decides to try her luck in the noisy and bustling outside world.

Fast facts about the Stonewall Riot

The first riots lasted for days. The riot was hardly reported by the papers. Stonewall Riot were mostly carry by word of mouth.

The small article that was written by the The New York Times reference to rioters as Queens.

There are hardly no photographs of the riots -the papers not feel it was appropriate to photography the rioters. They had no such problems photographing patrons was they being arrested from bars.

The police used many small excuses for harassing the Stonewall Inn-the night of riots they claims the Stonewall Inn was serving drinks in dirty glasses.

Police harassment and arrests were common the gay patrons carried phony ID's so if they were arrested there real name would not be printed.

There is no one thing that set off the rioters, instead it was accumulation of years of
harassment. It is widely believe that Judy Garland death a few days before may have contributed to emotional state of the rioters.

what I'm watching -Monsturd

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00008G96A.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

OK, This movie is disgusting and stupid in every way possible. That haven't been said-it was kinda fun. Nasty genetic waste get dumped in the sewage treatment plant -add a serial killer , you have the Shit Monster.

Dr. Frankenstein from the genetic lab uses bean and can corn to call the monster out.

http://z.about.com/d/horror/1/0/x/l/-/-/Monsturd.jpg

The final takes place at a chili cook off. Where the poor monster is called out on the promise of loose stools and porta potties comes out in the day light . There wanting for him are super water pistols filled with Pepto Bismol. Then out of cat carriers comes the artillery of flies. At last our poor man-turd losses his limbs and finally his life.

Chicago Pride

Guide to lesbian and gay Chicago
It's all about GLBT pride at Chicago Pride Fest on Friday and Saturday, June 26-27, the days before Chicago's iconic Pride Parade (Sunday, June 28). Festive ... Jubilant ... Fun ... are just a few of the words to describe this day-long gathering that's a non-stop, early-summer party.

Hosted by (and benefiting) the Northalsted Area Merchants Association -- the same group behind the wildly popular Northalsted Market Days (set for the weekend of August 1-2) -- this equally crowd-pleasing gay and lesbian celebration of community pride will be back bigger than ever in its 7th year!

Pride Fest showcases an eclectic lineup of arts & crafts, food and other vendors. It also features entertainment on two stages including one dedicated to some of Chicago's fine performers in the gay community.

Michigan Marriage.

Interesting reading AFA response to this article.
http://michiganmessenger.com/20480/opinions-on-same-sex-marriage-shifting-in-michigan

The Detroit Free Press reports on a new poll that shows a remarkable and significant shift in public opinion in Michigan over the issue of same-sex marriage. In 2004, a state constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex marriage passed with 59% of the vote, but if that vote were held today it would be much closer:
In what Glengariff Group pollster Richard Czuba describes as a seismic shift in public opinion, even support for gay marriage has nearly doubled since a similar poll in 2004. That poll was conducted before voters approved an amendment to the Michigan Constitution defining marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman.
In October 2004, a Glengariff poll showed 24% of Michiganders supported marriage rights for same-sex partners, and only 42% supported legal recognition of civil unions. In the new poll, support for same sex marriage was 46.5% and for civil unions 63.7%. Forty-eight percent of state voters said they opposed adding marriage rights, the only one of nine gay rights issues not winning majority support.
This mirrors a national shift in public opinion over the last few years as well. Poll after poll now shows voters divided about equally on the question of gay marriage with a sizable majority being in favor of either gay marriage or civil unions granting the same rights and protections that marriage would.

I don't make this up -Louisville KY

The New Bethel Church in Louisville is having open handgun day. Church goers are encourage to carry handgun to church. New Bethel,is a Pentecostal Church- I can only hope it isn't a Holiest Pentecostal. The thought of the holy ghost and handgun doesn't create a pretty picture. For a dollar you can enter in drawing for a chance to win a handgun.
